Jasprit Bumrah has dropped down a position in the ICC rankings and is facing quite a lot of trolling post his bad form versus New Zealand. Every player goes through a rough patch and that is what Bumrah is going through right now. Former Indian pacer Ashish Nehra spoke up regarding the Indian team’s dependency on Bumrah and Mohammed Shami.
The team had a tough time without Shami and it also put unnecessary pressure on Bumrah.
“You can’t expect Bumrah to deliver in every series. One has to remember that he is returning from an injury. It is difficult for anybody to keep performing at the top of his game all the time. Even Virat Kohli has had a quiet series”Ashish Nehra, former Indian cricketer.
Nehra said that the team should be focusing on grooming the other bowlers as well. There is nothing untrue about this. Nehra is very right in stating the fact that the team depends too much on Bumrah. His absence causes an eerie nervousness in the team which is not a good sign.
We saw how dropping Mohammed Shami imbalanced the entire Indian bowling attack and with Bumrah struggling with his form the other bowlers like Shardul Thakur and Navdeep Saini also went through a tough time on the field.
