Indian cricket team had an eye-opening T-20 series against Bangladesh and will be playing against West Indies in a home series starting December 6th. Skipper Virat Kohli, who was on rest for the previous series will be back and there will be certain changes in the batting line-up as well.
Former cricketer V.V.S. Laxman spoke about K.L. Rahul’s position in the batting line-up as Kohli will be back at number three. “The big question is that with Virat Kohli back and K.L. Rahul doing a good job batting at number three so then where will he fit? I believe that it is time that K.L. Rahul opens with Rohit Sharma. I would definitely have Rahul open with Rohit for the West Indies Series.” he said.
Well, it will be interesting to watch Rahul open the innings as Shikhar Dhawan has been ruled out of the series owing to his injured knee. Sanju Samson has been chosen to replace him in the squad but chances are that Rahul will be the one to open the innings as he was the part of the original squad.

Laxman also praised Shreyas Iyer for his performance in the third T-20 against Bangladesh in Nagpur.
“I was very impressed with the way Shreyas Iyer has batted so far. The best part about him was when during the last T20 International in Nagpur when India lost their top 3 batsmen, he had the ability to assess the condition very well and was very versatile in his approach and when Rahul was the aggressor he played second fiddle and the moment Rahul got out and Rishabh Pant came to the crease under pressure and was not able to rotate the strike, Shreyas Iyer just registered that and changed his gear and that is what you want at a number four,” he said.
Iyer had scored 62 runs in 33 balls when the top order had failed to impress. Iyer did a fantastic job under pressure when Rishabh Pant seemed to succumb under it. Till now Iyer has proved his worth and is an ideal candidate for the number four position. Let us see how captain Virat Kohli and the team management formulate the game plan.
