BCCI president and former Indian skipper Sourav Ganguly were asked if former skipper M.S. Dhoni will be playing the upcoming T-20 world cup or not. This is what he said, “Please ask Dhoni.”
Dhoni has been away from the game since India’s disappointing loss at the world cup 2019 semifinals against New Zealand. Recently he was asked about retirement to which he replied that it is better not to question him till January 2020.
A lot of speculations have been made on the cricketer’s future in the sport. He is a person who has led the Indian team to two ICC titles. Recently chief selector M.K.S Prasad commented that the selectors had moved past Dhoni. Any plans of retirement have been denied by the cricketer till January and recently he was seen practising along with Jharkhand’s under-23 team in Ranchi. This has indicated that he might be preparing for a comeback.
Sourav Ganguly had also said, “champions don’t finish quickly.” in Dhoni’s context when he took over as the president of BCCI.
