Pakistani cricketer Umar Akmal has been suspended by the Pakistan Cricket Board today. His PCL team Quetta Gladiators has been told to replace him as Akmal will be under an anti-corruption enquiry.

This was the statement made by PCB:

“The Pakistan Cricket Board today suspended Umar Akmal with immediate effect he cannot take part in any cricket-related activity pending the investigation being carried out by PCB’s Anti-Corruption Unit. As this is an ongoing investigation, the PCB will not make any further comments“.

Pakistan Cricket Board.

Akmal had reported the Pakistan Cricket Board that he had been approached to fix matches in the Canadian T20 league by Mansoor Akhtar, a former Pakistani cricketer. However, the board as such has not specified the exact reason why Akmal has been suspended. The only thing we know as of now is that he is in the middle of anti-corruption inquiry.
