Today’s match was definitely a nail-biting one. Some sorcerer seems to have jinxed the super overs for the Kiwis. The match seemed to be on their side but at the end moment, things changed.
Rohit Sharma definitely deserves all the praise for his amazing game today. First, he hit 65 of 40 balls. Hitman was playing at a strike rate of 162.50, hitting 6 fours and 3 sixes.
Today’s game went into the super over as New Zealand tied up at a score of 179/6 in 20 overs. But it was Mohammed Shami who took the game to the super over.
The 20th over was a crucial one as it went on like this: 6 1 W 0 1B W.
Mohammed Shami took two wickets in the last over, one of the New Zealand skipper Kane Williamson and the other of Ross Taylor at the last ball. The man defended 2 runs of 4 balls, which seemed to be impossible but he still managed to do it. The game seemed to be on the side of the Kiwis but tables turned at the end moment.
Then the super over also seemed to be on the side of the Kiwis as they had scored 17 runs hitting 3 boundaries. Once again Rohit Sharma saved the day by hitting 2 sixes in the last two balls to win the match. Rohit Sharma also completed 10,000 runs as an opener in T20s.
Special appreciation for the New Zealand skipper Kane Williamson who scored 95 runs in 48 balls with a humongous strike rate of 197.9. Williamson was caught out by KL Rahul in the last over of the match which proved to be quite crucial.
