Lasith Malinga, one of the most dangerous bowlers in the history of cricket, known for his unorthodox style of bowling and his freaky hairstyle finally said goodbye to international cricket in one day format at the age of 35.

Sri Lanka won the first match of the 3 match series against Bangladesh by 91 runs and Malinga took 3 wickets giving away 38 runs. On taking the third wicket he jumped to the 9th position in the list of most wicket-taking bowlers in the one-day international format, replacing India’s Anil Kumble who now holds the 10th position. His last wicket being Mustafizur Rahman, the total wickets taken by him in one day internationals now stands at 338.

Other than that, he was responsible for the dismissal of Bangladeshi captain Tamim Iqbal and opener Soumya Sarkar.

Malinga had a hearty goodbye and all the players in international cricket seemed to pay their respect to him on twitter.
