The Indian skipper Virat Kohli has been reprimanded by the International Cricket Council after he had a physical contact with South African pacer Beuran Hendriks.
This breaches the ICC code of conduct and Kohli has been given an official warning against him and also has been given a demerit point. This violates article 2.12 of the ICC code of conduct and the skipper has admitted his fault and accepted the sanction proposed by the match referee.
This happened during the fifth over of the match while Kohli was taking a run.
This was a level one breach of ICC code of conduct
“Inappropriate physical contact with a Player, Player Support personnel, umpire, refree or any other person (including spectators) during an international match”
This does not look good at the skipper when he is already having issues with the team selection and people questioning his captaincy.
