The season-6 of Indian Super League started with its first match today at Kochi with Kerela Blasters vs ATK. It was a great start for ATK (Kolkata) as they managed to score the first goal of the match and the season in the 6th minute of the match.
The goal was scored by Carl McHugh. The Irish player was assisted by Agustin Iniguez of Spian. The goal ceded in 6th minute was definitely a big blow to the home team Kerela. The fans went all silent. The next 15-20 minutes were quite pressurizing for Kerela as Jario was given a yellow card in the 18th minute.
Kerela were awarded with a penalty in the 28th minute and Ogbeche grabed the opportunity which lead to the first goal scored by the home team.
The second goal was also scored by Ogbeche in the 45th minute. By the half time the home team who seemed to be struggling in the initial 20 minutes put itself on the top.
The second half was full of a lot of substitutions in ATK but they could not equalize the score and the match ended up with 2-1 and Kerela won the first match of the 6th season of the league.
This win has resulted in addition of 3 points for the Kerela Blasters. Next match is tomorrow at 19:30 IST, Bengaluru FC vs North East United FC.
