By the end of the second day South Africa stood at 9/2 and it was evident that it will be a tough next day for them. India had scored 497 runs in their first innings and once again made sure that South Africa struggled really hard on the field.
South African first innings
The South African first innings had started off at a bad note with two early wickets gone on day-2 itself. None of the players except Zubayr Hamza was able to make a mark for himself, Hamza hit 62 runs in 79 balls.
A combined effort of bowlers
Umesh Yadav took 3 wickets while Shami, Nadeem and Jadeja took 2 wickets each dismissing any possible threat.
South African second innings
The follow up was implied by Indian skipper Virat Kohli and South Africa once again fell hard. Currently standing at 132/8 in 46 overs, it is not difficult to predict that they will lose by an innings. Dean Elgar, the South African opener was retired hust as a ball bowled by Umesh Yadav hit him.
Shami hits it off once again
Mohammed Shami ended up taking 3 wickets while Yadav took 2 and Jadeja and Ashwin took 1 wicket each. The victory is just 2 wickets away and India will win 11th home series in a row.
