India has already won the series by winning the first two matches of the 3 matched series. India is already leading the points table of the ICC world test championship. The last match of the series started today in Ranchi.
Rohit Sharma takes the charge
Indian line-up sort of failed to make a mark in the first innings as hey did in the previous two matches. Mayank Agarwal who hit a double century in the first match and a century in te second match got out at 10 today while skipper Virat Kohli got out at 12. Cheteshwar pujara went away at a duck.
It was Rohit Sharma and Ajinkya Rahane who made sure that there was a respectable total on board for the Indian team.
Rahane hit 83 runs in 135 balls at a strike rate of 61.48. While Hitman Rohit Sharma ended up hitting 117 runs in 164 balls at a strike rate of 71.34 which included 14 fours and 4 sixes.
India currently stands at 224/3 in 58 overs.
New Zealand bowlers successful in stopping Kohli and Agarwal
Both Kohli and Agarwal ina great form as of now and are surely looked upon as a threat for the opposite team. Kagiso Rabada ended up taking 2 wickets, Pujara and Agarwal, in 14 overs which included 5 maidens with an economy rate of 3.86. While Anrich Nortje took up one wicket of dangerous Virat Kohli.
If Rohit keeps on playing the same and the partnership turns out well, it will be a tough game for South Africa, the bowlers are already under pressure for the second day as scoreboard stands at 254/3 in 58 overs.
