The men in blue had an amazing match against West Indies. West Indies batted first and their top-order once again failed miserably, thanks to the new boy in the street, Deepak Chahar. Chahar took 3 wickets in 3 overs giving away just 4 runs! Evin Lewis, Sunil Narine and Shimron Hetmyer got out at his hands.
Chahar has set a new record becoming second most economical bowler for India after Bhuvneshwar Kumar. Kieron Pollard scored 58(45) and Rovman Powell scored 32(20). Other than that Navdeep Saini took 2 wickets giving away 34 runs while Rahul Chahar took 1.
West Indies ended at 146/6 in 20 overs.
India staggered in the start of their innings with Shikhar Dhawan getting out at 3 and K.L. Rahul at 20(18). But skipper Virat Kohli along with Rishabh Pant, who was struggling with his bat in last two matches, took over the match. Kohli hit a beautiful knock of 59 in 45 balls which included 6 fours.This was Kohli’s 21st half century in T-20’s
While Pant went on to play till the end scoring 65*(42) hitting 4 fours and 4 sixes. India beat West Indies by 7 wickets and Pant Went on to win the performer of the match while Deepak Chahar won the man of the match. Krunal Pandya was awarded the player of the series.
India has won the series with 3-0. The men in blue are looking forward to the ODI series which also starts this week.
