India played their second match of the T-20 series last night against West Indies. India chose to bat first after winning the toss and ended up scoring 167/5. The hitman Rohit Sharma scored a beautiful half century, 67(51) but was sent away by Oshane Thomas. Shikhar Dhawan contributed 23(16) and skipper Virat Kohli hit 28 in 23 balls. Krunal Pandya’s 20*(13) and Ravindra Jadeja’s 9*(4) took India to a decent total of 167. Thomas and Sheldon Cottrel took 2 wickets each and stopped India from scoring above 200 as all the batsmen seemed to be in good form yesterday.
The Caribbean team played quite slow and was about to make just 98 in 15.3 overs. Only Rovman Powell was able to show some intent by hitting 54 runs in 34 balls. Krunal Pandya took 2 wickets, of Nicholas Pooran and Powell giving away just 23 runs. Washington Sundar and Bhuvneshwar took 1 wicket each. India won the match by Duckworth-Lewis method as the rain stopped the play in between.
India has won the T-20 series by winning the first 2 matches, the third T-20 is tomorrow in Guyana.
