It is India versus West Indies ODI number 3 of the 3 matches one-day series. West Indies came out to bat first and it was a treat for the eyes to watch Christopher Henry Gayle bat the way he does. Gayle hit 72 in 41 balls and what could have been a better way to say goodbye. It was his last one day international and he ended it up at a high note.
The helpless Indian bowlers couldn’t stop him till Ahmad Khaleel’s delivery got him out. He was caught out by none other than the Indian skipper Virat Kohli himself but till then Gayle seemed to have done his job quite well. Hitting 8 fours and 5 sixes at a massive strike rate of 175.60 Gayle payed his farewell to his one day career.
But here’s a catch! Gayle has not officially declared his sign-off. People are not even sure if this is a final goodbye or not. But the gestures which he made after getting out an how the entire team cheered him up was a signal enough that this might be his last match. He received a huge round of applause from both the sides and lift up his bat in grandeur.
Lets look at his career stats:
But lets also wait for an official word from the batsman and see where he sees himself going with international cricket. Gayle was the first batsman to hit a hundred in T-20 format of he game and he has also been known as a T-20 expert due to that.
