India has won the first match of the 3 match test series against West Indies. The second innings couldn’t have been more fun and the credit goes to Ajinkya Rhane and Jasprit Bumrah.
This was India’s second innings:
Rahane’s 102 in 242 balls which included 5 fours with a strike rate of 72.66 along with Hanuma Vihari’s 93 of 128 balls (10 fours and 1 six) got India to a good total of 343/7 in the second innings. Virat Kohli also hit a half century, 51 of 113.
The target had been set, India already had a lead since the first innings and the Indian bowlers couldn’t have done it better.
The Caribbean team got all out at 100 in 26.5 overs. As the scoreboard clearly shows no one was able to play for a longer duration.
Jasprit Bumrah took 5 wickets giving away just 7 runs in 8 overs with an economy rate of 0.88 with 3 maiden overs. While Ishant Sharma took 3 wickets and Mohammed Shami got 2 to his name. Bumrah’s performance tells why he is the number one bowler in the world and it was good to have him back after more than a month.
The second test starts on 30th of August Friday in Kingston, Jamaica.
