No matter which country it is, the ground will always scream INDIA-INDIA, when it comes to cricket. The men in blue played their first match of the 3 match T-20 series against West Indies today and had a very great start.
This new team full of young blood proved it’s worth In Florida. Credit goes to Virat Kohli’s brilliant captaincy and team’s raw attitude. It started with a fall of early two wickets of West Indies and then it was a trail of batsmen departing back to the pavilion. With Navdeep Saini taking 3 wickets for 17 runs in his debut match the right-handed fast arm bowler definitely boosted team’s confidence. Besides that Bhuvneshwar Kumar took 2 wickets for 19 and Krunal Pandya, Washinton Sundar, Ravindra Jadeja along with Khaleel Ahmed bagged a wicket each.
Out of those 3 wickets taken by Saini, 2 were taken in his first over itself. Saini was responsible for sending home the dangerous Nicholas Pooran, Kieron Pollard and Shimron Hetmyer. Keiron Pollard’s 49 from 49 deliveries was also not able to make much of a difference as the team ended at 95/9 in 20 overs.
The second innings saw team India chasing the total without any hassle. India too lost a couple of early wickets but it didn’t matter as the total was meagre. Rohit Sharma hit 24(25) while Manish Pandey scored 19 in 14 balls. It was an easy victory and Navdeep Saini was awarded the player of the match.
The next T-20 is on 4th of August.
