Indian skipper Virat Kohli turns 31 today and we want to celebrate it by talking about a chosen favourite century of his.
It was India vs Sri Lanka, commonwealth bank tri-series in Australia. India needed an extra point to stay in the race for winning the series. Sri Lanka ended up setting a huge target of 321 runs and India had to chase the total under 40 overs. A task which seemed to be impossible was completed by none other than King Kohli.
It is my favourite innings personally. There is a reason that he is known as the king of run chases. 321 was indeed an impossible task. Kohli ended up scoring 133* in 86 balls.
Kohli hit 16 fours and 2 sixes. Malinga ceded 24 runs in an over and the entire innings turned out obe a career-changing moment for Kohli.
The Lasith Malinga over that went on to be like 2,6,4,4,4,4, is my favourite cricket memory.
Kohli finished the match in 36th over itself, which was unbelievable.
Take a look for yourself:
So, on his 31st birthday, we wish him all the best. God bless him! Happy birthday Virat.
