There have not been many actors in Bollywood who have seen their career graph going only up and up. And Kajol is one of those few handfuls who knew how to keep the charm alive. She started her career when Bollywood was mostly song and dance stuff for actresses. But even then, she proved her mettle and is known better for her magnificent acting than how well she can shake a leg on a dance number. And, that’s an achievement in itself. So, let’s give a treat to ourselves and see her acting miracles in the top 5 biggest blockbusters of her career, shall we?

1. Baazigar (1993)

What you’re gonna do when you fall for the guy who is after your dad? This curious plot had her winning us all over with her brilliant performance. Moreover, this was the first time Kajol & SRK were paired together. And as they said, they nailed it together. To those of you who don’t know, this was just the second film of her career which turned out to be a massive blockbuster.

2. Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge (1995)

The list is not complete if DDLJ is not a part of it. The longest-running film in Indian history won our hearts through and through. And no wonder Kajol won her first-ever Filmfare Best Actress Award for the film!

3. Gupt: The Hidden Truth (1997)

The Bong beauty is a brilliant actress who can fit any role like a glove. And this is what she proved in Gupt with a heavily negative role, playing a murderer. This movie was also labelled one of the best whodunits of Bollywood. And of course, she went on to win Filmfare Award for Best Performance in a Negative Role, deservingly so.

4. Kuch Kuch Hota Hai (1998)

Impressing you with her tomboyish quirks or being a pretty feminine lady, she can do both, and everything in between. The movie was the first directorial venture of Karan Johar and also one of the most important films in the career of Kajol. And yes, she won another Filmfare Best Actress award for this one. Up and up, you see?

5. Fanaa (2006)

This major hit was Kajol’s comeback to the industry after 5 years. And she held it up pretty good with Aamir Khan with whom she was paired for the first time. Now, who wouldn’t be intrigued to know more about an innocent girl falling for a person who is an undercover terrorist? People rushed to the theatres to watch this one and the Box Office registered a superhit. The jury loved her too and bestowed her with yet another award of Best Actress!

If you ask me, watch all of these films today and have a perfect Kajol-ic Monday.
