Isn’t that exciting, seeing fire-breathing magnificent creatures again on the screen? The end of GOT (it was a disaster, wasn’t it?) took that away from us. But with many prequels lining up, we got the hope that we’ll again be up for some fire-spitting beasts. But nothing much came out of it. As the most prequels being made aren’t inclined to dragons. Currently, there are more than 2 independent prequels of GOT that are underway and they are all set some 1000 of years before the events that took place in GOT. So it clearly meant that we won’t be seeing any of our fave/familiar characters. That was surely a disappointment considering the fact that these spin-offs weren’t using dragons either, one of the magical (both metaphorically and literally) elements of the original show. What’s the fun in that?

But now the good news has arrived. There was a rumor going on that Condal (the writer of the prequel with whom Martin would be collabing) is gonna use dragons. But no need for speculating (and wishful thinking) anymore as Martin himself announced on his official blog that we will see dragons (yay!). He wrote:

I can say that there will be dragons. Everyone else has said that, so why not me?

Oh my God! That’s awesome news! How do you feel about it?

I don’t know who would call shots on these dragons, I mean who would say Dracarys, but one thing is for sure, there would be the House Targaryen in the show. After all, they were the only one who ruled the dragons. Wouldn’t it be cool to see some fiery valor, conquests, and probably that DNA-inbuilt ‘descent into madness’ too?

It’ll go live sometime in 2020. Can you wait???
