If you are a 90’s kids, then you’ll sure remember He-Man. And if the show’s end left a sad-shaped hole in your heart, then here’s your surreal chance to heal. Netflix has roped in filmmaker Kevin Smith of Clerks and Mallrats fame, to reboot the series.
The anime wonder will be titled Masters of the Universe: Revelation and the best thing about it is that it will start off right from the point where it left off! Smith will be both the executive producer and showrunner of the project. Earlier, he unveiled the show at the Power-Con convention as well.
And don’t at all expect it to be some outdated stuff left for people pushing 40s. Nuh-uh! Netflix hopes to engage new, younger viewers as well, after all. The show is getting resurrected with big hopes and dreams. Ask Smith and he’ll tell you that “(It) is the Masters of the Universe story you always wanted to see as a kid.”
Moreover, you won’t be seeing abrupt changes, only the familiar characters. So if you want to run a fast search on Youtube to brush up some memories, it’s the right time. Smith also hinted towards that the show would necessarily focus on unresolved plots and this time, it could very well be “the final battle between He-Man and Skeletor.”
Seems like it’s about time your age-old hero sees the light of modern graphics and streaming platforms. But Netflix hasn’t put a streaming date on the show yet and it’s very likely it’d be some time before you could actually gorge on popcorn watching it. But it’s worth the wait, right?
