BCCI is taking in applications for Indian cricket team’s new head coach and other supporting staff and former South African cricketer Jonty Rhodes has applied for the position of fielding coach. Rhodes is known to be the one of the best fielders in the history of the game and would definitely be the ideal choice for this position.

Rhodes has never been linked to any national team but has been coaching the Mumbai Indians team for nine seasons of the Indian Premier League. Let’s see what decision the board takes as Ravi Shastri’s contract has not been renewed and new applicants are welcome. Team India will be starting their tour of West Indies in August.

R Sridhar is the current fielding coach and the Indian supporting staff has been given an extension of 45 more days post- ICC world cup 2019.
